Maker and Restorer of Fine Stringed Instruments

Seeking Classical Stringed Instruments

We are interested in acquiring violins or other stringed instruments of the classical Italian period. We are particularly interested in instruments made by the Amati family of Cremona.

Current condition of the instrument is not important. Authenticity, however, is essential. The most reliable evidence that a classical Italian instrument is authentic is a certificate or appraisal from a reputable dealer, preferably accompanied by a history of the instrument.

If you believe you have such an instrument and are interested in selling it, you may either email us to discuss it or simply send us, by regular mail to the address below, the following: a copy of all documentation, a description of the instrument, all information you have regarding its history, and photographs, if available. Be sure to send us copies of any certificates. Keep the originals in a safe place.

Please do not email photos to us unless we have indicated that we would like to see them.

We are prepared to purchase authentic classical instruments, or to restore your classical instrument and sell it for you.
